The Wiener Platz in the 1960s: Fiat 500…
Munich is often referred to as the "northernmost city in Italy". It is therefore only natural that the "500 Forever Young" tour, which travels across Europe, also made a stop in Bavaria's Mediterranean-inspired capital. Just in time for the 60th birthday of the historic Fiat 500, Wiener Platz in the Haidhausen district became the scene of a journey through time. For one day (Saturday, June 10, 2017), Fiat transformed a row of shops into a scene in the style of the 1960s.

Visitors could stroll through a flower shop, enjoy an espresso in a bar or buy typical Italian products in a grocery store. Actors in period costumes - for example a newspaper boy promoting the "Extrablatt" - brought the atmosphere of the "Swinging Sixties" to life. The location could hardly have been better chosen - Wiener Platz, with the smallest permanent market in Munich and the neighboring Hofbräuhaus, already stands for tradition and the "good old days".
The 60s Dolce Vita was framed by a small exhibition of historical and current Fiat 500s. The star of the "500 Forever Young" tour, which has already stopped in Turin, London and Paris, is a new special model of the Fiat 500. Built in only a limited number as a tribute to the "Nuova Cinquecento" presented in 1957, it is reminiscent of its legendary predecessor with a whole range of exclusive details.

These include, for example, the vinyl-covered dashboard, the brand logo in the classic design on the radiator grille, on the trunk lid and on the steering wheel, as well as the chrome trim on the front hood. The Fiat 500 special model, which is only available as a convertible, comes as standard in the two-tone Dolcevita paintwork: white applied in three layers for the body, ivory for the hood and roof pillars.
A dividing line in grey and burgundy underlines the two-tone effect, and the trunk lid is also painted grey. The interior also features retro-style design details. These include the seat covers in ivory leather[1] with contrasting burgundy stitching.

The special model for the 60th anniversary of the Fiat 500 is a perfect example of how the Italian automotive icon is constantly evolving. Even today, it impresses not only with its timeless design, but also with innovative technology and a high level of comfort on board.
