New Fiat 500 wins awards in UK and France…

The new, fully electric Fiat 500 is adding to its collection of international awards. The British portal DrivingElectric, which specializes in electric vehicles, named the Fiat 500 “Car of the Year 2021” and “Best Small Electric Car”[1].

At the "Automobile Awards 2020" in France, the Fiat 500 received the "Prix Green Car"[2]. The brand's first fully electric model had already been awarded the internationally renowned "Red Dot Award" in the "Design Concept" category[3] as well as the "Autonis" for the best design in the segment, awarded by the trade magazine auto, motor & sport[4].

The French "Automobile Awards" are presented by a jury made up of experts from the automotive industry, fans and end users. This year's honorary member was the actor and comedian Arnaud Ducret ("One Fiancé Too Many"). The online magazine DrivingElectric awards the best electric vehicles on the British market every year. In addition to the main prize for "Car of the Year", around 20 individual categories are also evaluated. The overall victory as "Car of the Year" and the class victory as "Best Small Electric Car" went to the new Fiat 500 for its elegant design, technology, range of up to 320 kilometers and the attractive price of the basic version Fiat 500 ACTION.

These prestigious awards confirm that the new Fiat 500 is revolutionizing the world of electric mobility in terms of technology and design. Lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 42 kWh enable a range of up to 320 kilometers, measured according to the WLTP standard (World Wide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure). In purely urban traffic, the range increases to up to 450 kilometers. To optimize charging times, the new Fiat 500 in the PASSION and ICON trim levels is equipped with a fast charging system that enables a charging current of up to 85 kW. With fast charging (DC charging with cable Mode 4), the batteries are charged enough to drive around 50 kilometers after just five minutes. The battery is 35 percent charged in just 80 minutes. The electric drive of the new Fiat 500 has an output of 87 kW (comparable to 118 hp). This means that acceleration from a standstill to 50 km/h is possible in 3,1 seconds, and 100 km/h is reached after 9,0 seconds. The top speed is limited to 150 km/h.

The new Fiat 500 is not only the brand's first purely electric vehicle. It also brings Level 2 autonomous driving to the city car segment for the first time. The systems required for this include cameras that monitor the area around the vehicle's longitudinal and transverse axes. The intelligent adaptive cruise control (iACC) reacts by braking or accelerating, taking into account not only other vehicles, but also cyclists and pedestrians. The lane keeping assistant (Lane Centering) keeps the new Fiat 500 in the middle of the lane, provided that this is precisely defined by lines.

The Intelligent Speed Assistant recognizes speed limit signs and asks drivers to adhere to them. The further developed Urban Blind Spot Assistant uses ultrasonic sensors to detect objects in the so-called blind spot of the exterior mirrors and activates a corresponding warning signal in the form of a triangle on the mirror surfaces. The Attention Assist recognizes a lack of concentration in the driver and recommends a break by activating a corresponding symbol. The new Fiat 500 is also equipped with "360° Drone View". The all-round camera system creates an image during parking maneuvers, for example, as if a drone were hovering over the vehicle.

The UConnect infotainment system^TM 5 is controlled in the Fiat 500 PASSION via a 7,0-inch (17,8-centimeter) touchscreen, and in the Fiat 500 ICON even via a 10,25-inch (26-centimeter) screen. The advanced voice recognition is activated with the wake-up word "Hey Fiat." The new UConnect enables access to innovative online services.^TM-Box. One example is the creation of a Wi-Fi hotspot to which up to eight compatible devices can be connected simultaneously. These connectivity services are usually reserved for higher vehicle classes, but Fiat is offering them for the first time in an A-segment car, and with features specifically designed for the world of electric cars.

The new Fiat 500 is available as a hatchback, a convertible with a soft top and in the brand new 3+1 variant, which offers an additional door on the passenger side.

Fiat has won two competition categories at the 2020 edition of the "Key Awards". The victory in the "Original Music" category went to the video "Reincarnation", starring Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, which promotes the new Fiat 500, the brand's first fully electric vehicle model.

The jury awarded first place in the “Music Covers – Licensing” category to a spot about the special models of the Fiat 500 series to mark the brand’s 120th anniversary. The video is accompanied by a hit by pop stars Sting and Shaggy, who can also be seen in person on board a Fiat 500X.

The Key Awards are one of Italy's most prestigious competitions in the fields of television, cinema, internet and mobile broadcast media. It is organized by the Media Key Group, publisher of the most important industry magazines and compulsory reading for every marketing manager in Italy. The country's largest creative agencies also took part in the 52nd edition of the annual competition.

The "Key Award 2020" in the "Original Music" category was won by the video "Reincarnation" for the new Fiat 500, the brand's first fully electric model. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the lead role in it. The Oscar winner has been an activist for over twenty years in the fight against climate change and for the protection of biodiversity. DiCaprio's message about the new Fiat 500: It is easy to use, offers innovative technology, modern connectivity and is also beautiful. The video "Reincarnation" asks questions about life and evolution. Fiat provides answers with its most iconic model.

The spot was produced by the creative agency Doner for the production house Movie Magic and directed by Joseph Kahn, who has worked with Jennifer Lopez, U2, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. The atmospheric imagery and Leonardo DiCaprio's masterful interpretation are accompanied by a captivating musical arrangement by Flavio Ibba for Red Rose Productions.

The video tells the story of a brand that has changed over time and that has inspired change with the Fiat 500 since 1957. The Maestro commented: "The 'Key Awards' maintain their place in history as the longest-running industry competition in Italian advertising. I am very proud of this award and of having been able to be part of such an important project for Fiat, on which I worked with Olivier François for the launch of the new Fiat 500. The project was also unique because of the involvement of a global film star."

Fiat won the second “Key Award” in the “Music Covers – Licensing” category for a spot celebrating the market launch of the 120th anniversary special models of the Fiat 500, Fiat 500X and Fiat 500L series. In the video, Sting and Shaggy drive the Fiat 500 X 120^TH, the scenes are accompanied by the hit “Just One Lifetime” from their joint, Grammy-winning album “44/876”.

The slogan "FIAT - Driven by dreams since 1899" shown at the end of the spot underlines how the Fiat brand has been at its customers' side for 120 years, fulfilling their wishes and turning even the shortest journey into a dream. At the same time, the video highlights Fiat's strategy of continuing to offer technology that is accessible to everyone in the future.

The award-winning film was conceived by the creative agency Leo Burnett, and the media planning was carried out by Starcom. Joseph Kahn, director of the video "Just One Lifetime", which was supported by Fiat as a media sponsor, chose the Catalan metropolis of Barcelona as the filming location.

FCA Italy, Enel X and NewMotion launch e-nterprise program…

– Italian subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) cooperates with two charging infrastructure specialists – Enel X and NewMotion – to expand commercially used electric mobility in Europe.
– Innovative services specifically for vehicle fleets, with technology for the company location and solutions for business trips.

FCA Italy SpA has signed a cooperation agreement with two market leaders in the electric mobility sector. With the initiative called e-nterprise, FCA, Enel X and NewMotion are specifically targeting commercial vehicle fleets and corporate customers. The aim of e-nterprise is to accelerate the transformation of individual mobility to electric vehicles throughout Europe.

As part of the e-nterprise initiative, FCA and its two partners are building a service structure that will enable companies to integrate electrified vehicles from FCA brands into their vehicle fleet easily, seamlessly and immediately. The program simplifies the transition to new mobility and offers solutions to problems that customers may encounter in connection with these changes.

e-nterprise supports FCA's commercial customers even before they purchase electric or hybrid vehicles. To do this, charging requirements and the specific conditions of the customer's location and vehicles are first analyzed in order to develop suitable technical solutions and offer comprehensive advice on the best alternatives. As soon as technical limitations and structural options have been determined, Enel X and NewMotion offer the installation of the charging infrastructure as part of e-nterprise.

e-nterprise includes a wide range of customized charging solutions, including engineering, installation and service, to meet the needs of FCA's business customers, from small and medium-sized companies to large corporations. Part of e-nterprise is also an easy-to-use software platform that controls, analyses and verifies all aspects of the technical infrastructure and charging. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles opens e-Village in Turin – Car dealership…

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has opened its first car dealership exclusively for electric and hybrid vehicles in Turin. The e-Village is located in the "Green Pea" complex, a unique architectural project with a focus on environmental technology on the site of the former Fiat Lingotto plant in the northern Italian metropolis.

"The 'Green Pea' complex is the ideal location for FCA's green jewels," commented Olivier François, President of Fiat and Chief Marketing Officer FCA. "In this innovative facility, we can show the new face of mobility. And not just with cars, but also with heart, soul and senses. e-Village should be simple and restrained, because simplicity and restraint go hand in hand with sustainability. 'Less is more' is rule number one when it comes to sustainability. But rule number two is thinking outside the box. The new e-Village will not only show the technology of our cars. It will also present innovative solutions for purchasing, renting, sharing, our new services, payment systems and new applications."

The "Green Pea" complex comprises five floors dedicated to changing people's relationship with energy, movement, housing, clothing and leisure. "Green Pea" has clearly defined geometries and follows the guiding principle of overall ecological awareness: zero impact on the environment. Three rules characterize the architectural project: reuse, recycle, reduce. The result is an innovative showcase for the mobility of the future. Many of the furnishings were made in collaboration with Stay Green, a designer and manufacturer of sustainable products "Made in Italy". Stay Green produces from recycled raw materials or reuses exhibition components that were previously used at automobile shows, for example. A highlight are large textile surfaces made from theBreath^®, a revolutionary material that can significantly reduce air pollution thanks to its absorbent properties.

FCA's new e-Village is located on the ground floor of "Green Pea". In a space of over 1.300 square meters, the best technologies in the field of green thinking come together. FCA, FCA Bank/Leasys and Mopar^® are jointly presenting an environmentally conscious and sustainable product range that is geared towards the well-being of the environment and the future of mobility. On display are the fully electric Fiat 500 and Fiat E-Ducato as well as the hybrid vehicles of the brands Fiat, Jeep_® and - exclusively for the Italian market - Lancia. Visitors to the e-Village can also learn about the Fiat Centoventi concept car, which offers a whole range of innovative solutions, including modular batteries for a scalable range, sustainable materials and reusable plug-and-play accessories. Also on display is an Alfa Romeo Tonale concept car, which will be the brand's second SUV model to be launched in 2021 and will then also be available in a plug-and-play hybrid version. The new e-Village, organizationally part of the Mirafiori Motor Village, also offers space for accessories and merchandising items from the group's brands, as well as a conference room.

At the heart of FCA's Sustainable Mobility strategy is the reconciliation of customer needs with environmental protection. This strategy reflects the desire to address environmental issues. One of the biggest challenges in this process for all car manufacturers is the redesign of mobility as a whole. Major changes are essential and must respond to customer demands, which are constantly evolving and expect ever greater attention to the environment.

FCA is committed to creating the conditions for mobility to become more sustainable and for e-mobility to be a smart choice for customers right from the start. The fully electric Fiat 500
The main attraction in the e-Village is the new Fiat 500, which is fully electric and is available in sedan and convertible body versions as well as the completely new 3+1 version. The new Fiat 500 is a prime example of the Italian virtues of style, tradition, innovation, craftsmanship and technology. The front of the vehicle, the face with the unmistakable headlights, contrasts with the modern, clean lines of the body and conveys a powerful, robust character. The interior continues with references to the historic predecessor, including the round instrument panel and the two-spoke steering wheel. Apart from these borrowings, the interior has been completely redesigned to improve comfort and space. The technological content and the numerous services that create a world around the new Fiat 500 are also innovative.

The new Fiat 500 is a completely new development, designed exclusively for electric drive. Clever solutions include the batteries housed in a block in the vehicle floor between the axles. This made it possible to create generous space for the interior and luggage compartment. At the same time, the low, central center of gravity has a positive effect on the driving dynamics of the Italian electric vehicle.

The result of this strategy is an agile car that is fun to drive, comfortable and quiet, and connected to the Internet even when on the move. The new Fiat 500 is a compact car suitable for use in the city, as easy to use as a smartphone. With a comparatively long range, the new Fiat 500 is the only car in this class to be able to drive autonomously at level 2, naturally with zero local emissions.

The new Fiat 500 is available in three trim levels: ACTION, PASSION and ICON, each offering specific features. All three offer a high standard in terms of technology, connectivity and safety.

Fiat 500 Hybrid and Fiat Panda Hybrid
In addition to the new Fiat Panda, the mild hybrid variants of the Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda can also be seen in the e-Village. Fiat's mild hybrid engine combines a three-cylinder petrol engine from the FireFly series, which generates 51 kW (70 hp) from a liter of displacement, with a belt starter generator (RSG), which works in the 12-volt electrical system and supports the combustion engine with an output of 3,6 kW when starting. The RSG draws its energy from a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 11 Ah. A new six-speed gearbox, which is tailored to the characteristics of the mild hybrid drive, ensures the power is transmitted to the front axle.

The hybrid system improves fuel efficiency without compromising performance. Compared to the four-cylinder petrol engine 1.2 8V with 50 kW (69 hp) from the FIRE series, CO₂-Emissions are reduced by an average of 20 percent, and by up to 30 percent in the new Fiat Panda Cross. In addition, the RSG system enables the automatic start-stop system to operate much more comfortably and without vibrations than a conventional starter motor. Buyers also benefit from all the advantages of the hybrid vehicle's type approval, which, in addition to meeting the Euro 6D Final emissions standard, can also include free access and freedom of movement in the city center, cheaper parking in the city center and tax relief, depending on local regulations.

Jeep Renegade 4xe and Jeep Compass 4xe
Electrification is a fundamental aspect of Jeep's future strategy and represents the desire to become a leader in sophisticated, greener technologies, while maintaining the brand's historic values of adventure, authenticity, freedom and passion. With plug-in hybrid electric technology, Jeep Renegade 4xe and Jeep Compass 4xe offer the best performance and driving pleasure of the two ranges. Jeep Renegade 4xe and Jeep Compass 4xe are literally able to go anywhere and do anything. At the same time, they are ideal cars for everyday use in the city thanks to plug-in hybrid technology, which enables locally emission-free driving with an average range of up to 50 kilometers (measured according to the NEDC2 cycle) in fully electric mode.

The new Jeep Renegade 4xe and Jeep Compass 4xe Plug-in-Hybrid models are available in the Limited, S and Trailhawk trim levels. All variants are equipped with four-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. There is a choice of two power levels with 140 kW (190 hp) or 177 kW (260 hp) system output. The Business trim level is also available for the Jeep Compass 4xe.

A characteristic feature of both models is the wide range of body colors. The Jeep Renegade has 18 single or two-tone variants, some in combination with a black roof, and the Jeep Compass even has 22 versions. Jeep has developed a comprehensive range of charging solutions for public and private areas around the electrified drive systems, with the easyWallbox at the center.

The Lancia Ypsilon Hybrid EcoChic
The Lancia Ypsilon is still available in Italy. The new model version Lancia Ypsilon Hybrid EcoChic, which is available in Silver and Gold trim levels, is equipped with the same mild hybrid drive as the Fiat 500 Hybrid and Fiat Panda Hybrid.

The Fiat E-Ducato
Fiat Professional, FCA's van specialists, have set themselves the goal of offering comprehensive solutions for electric mobility in the commercial sector. Based on an analysis of energy needs, these solutions not only cover every single task, but also provide answers to vehicle and infrastructure issues, as well as a whole range of everyday services that are increasingly required by new forms of mobility.

The Fiat E-Ducato is offered with modularly scalable battery sizes that ensure ranges in a typical urban delivery cycle of 200 to over 360 kilometers, depending on environmental conditions, battery type and charging configuration. In addition, the fully electric van has high performance potential. The speed is limited to 100 km/h. The power is 90 kW, the maximum torque is 280 Newton meters. The new electric motor underlines the strengths of the Fiat E-Ducato. These include the best-in-class loading volume of ten to 17 cubic meters and the best-in-class payload of up to 1.950 kilograms. In addition, the Fiat E-Ducato offers modern connectivity, for example for managing vehicle fleets.

Mopar's offer^®
Mopar’s offer^® to the electrified vehicle models from Fiat and Jeep will be presented in the new e-Village in the “Green Pea” complex. In particular, Jeep Renegade 4xe and Jeep Compass 4xe can be equipped with a wide range of authentic accessories from Mopar^® Both models are available with more than 100 accessories that emphasize their versatility as a vehicle for both city and off-road use. These include the new 4xe package, which includes blue styling accents for the bonnet and exterior mirror caps, as well as high-quality floor mats.

Mopar® for the new Fiat 500

The new Fiat 500, which was recently unveiled in Turin, is FCA's first fully electric car from the start and is set to shift the bar in the world of locally emission-free vehicles.

The new Fiat 500 shows responsibility for the environment with the depiction of a leaf on the roof and the sustainable interior mats. The Pro Clean package from Mopar ensures a clean climate in the Fiat 500. It consists of a Prime interior filter, an air purifier and a UV lamp. Uconnect ™ services and the FIAT app
Mopar's Connected Services team has developed a range of modern services for the new Fiat 500 as the connected car of the future.

Customers of the new 500e can use the FIAT mobile app on their smartphone * or on board the car using the new infotainment system as standard to discover many functions. With the FIAT app, for example, the new 500 can be operated remotely: check the charge status, lock and unlock doors, switch on lights and program the air conditioning. There is also a search function for the nearest public charging points and vehicle maintenance can also be managed. If necessary or if there is a risk, the Fiat 500 can put the driver in contact immediately with an operator, who can then dispatch the emergency service or breakdown assistance. With the “Send & Go” function, selected destinations can be sent directly to the Fiat 500's navigation system on the smartphone. When you log in to the FIAT app for the first time, the My easy Charge service is immediately available, which not only checks available charging stations in your area and can start the charging process, but can also be used to pay for the drawn electricity via smartphone. The Fiat 500 can be charged at home with the easyWallbox.

All of these connectivity functions are made possible by the Uconnect Box, which can also be used to access the on-board services, for example to convert the car into a WiFi hotspot for up to eight devices, to use the voice services of Amazon Alexa in the car and to ensure that the navigation software is always up to date via radio transmission.

The Uconnect Box is also a certified telematics system with which customers can access offers from selected leading partners from the industry and insurance services in connection with vehicle telematics data. And that's not all: in addition to all of these standard services, a new e-commerce website has optional packages with additional added value. These services include My Alert, with control over the Fiat 500 if theft is suspected or attempted, and My Fleet Manager as a complete solution for companies that want to control and monitor their fleet via a portal.

FCA Germany AG in Frankfurt am Main has now filled two new directorates: Mr. Johannes Alings (40) the position of the Director of Network Development and Mr. Davide Ivac (46) becomes new Director of MOPAR Service, Parts & Customer Care. In addition, Ms. Annika Löwe (41) as Manager After Sales Field Force within the MOPAR Directorate and Mr. Joachim Burkhardt (43) as Manager Marketing Fiat Professional new areas of responsibility.

Johannes Alings In his new role, he reports to Maria Grazia Davino, CEO of FCA Germany AG. "The appointment of Johannes Alings as Director of Network Development is the starting signal for closer cooperation between the Sales and Aftersales departments and represents the first career step for Johannes Alings into the Passenger Cars and Light Commercial Vehicles divisions," says Maria Grazia Davino.

"His primary personal goal is to develop a trusting collaboration with FCA trading partners in the areas of vehicle sales and aftersales." Johannes Alings has been working in the aftersales organization at FCA Germany AG since 2009 and has held the position of Director MOPAR Service, Parts & Customer Care since February 2016.

Davide Ivac At the same time, he succeeds Johannes Alings as Director of MOPAR Service, Parts & Customer Care. "Over the past three years, Davide Ivac has earned a high level of reputation in his role as Manager After Sales Field Force through his industry knowledge and proven professionalism," says Davino.

"This appointment is also part of the strategy of closer integration of sales and aftersales. Both we as importers and our trading partners will benefit equally from this."

Annika Löwe has been working in the FCA organization since 2015. Until 2017, she worked as Marketing Manager in the Fiat and Abarth department in Germany, before moving to FCA Italy SpA and working as Fleet Marketing Manager for the Fiat Professional and Fiat brands at the Turin headquarters.

After returning to FCA Germany AG, she took on the role of Marketing Manager in the Fiat Professional department. In her new role as After Sales Field Force Manager at MOPAR, Annika Löwe will now report to Davide Ivac. "Annika Löwe can draw on many years of experience in the automotive sector and has the best qualifications for her new role," said Davide Ivac and Maria Grazia Davino, explaining their choice of Annika Löwe.

For Joachim Burkhardt The appointment as Manager Marketing Fiat Professional is also the next logical career step. Since starting as Product Manager Jeep in August 2011, Joachim Burkhardt has been able to gain a wealth of experience within the German sales organization.

He also has in-depth knowledge of the entire German automotive market, as he has closely monitored the transformation of the automotive sector over the past three years as Market Intelligence Manager, enabling him to support the top management of the German and international FCA organizations.

"His exceptional knowledge of the market is particularly beneficial for the complex product and communication business of light commercial vehicles. Joachim Burkhardt is a very important building block within the FCA organization," says Maria Grazia Davino. He will now report to Luigi Saia, Brand Country Manager of Fiat Professional in Germany.

FCA Germany AG will continue to strategically develop the company in the coming months and will continue to offer internal talent the opportunity to grow within the company.
