Abarth 595 named “Best of” for the fifth time in a row
– Readers of the specialist magazine “auto, motor und sport” once again voted Abarth 595 the winner in the import ranking of the “Mini Cars” competition category.
– Compact sports car with up to 132 kW (180 hp) also takes second place in the overall “Mini Cars” ranking against strong German competitors.
2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 - for the fifth time in a row, the Abarth 595 has won the "Best Cars" competition from "auto, motor und sport"*. Readers of the trade magazine voted the sports car with the scorpion in its logo as the winner of the import class in the "Mini Cars" category. The Abarth 595 received around a quarter of the votes. Second place also remained in the family to a certain extent, with the Fiat 2 achieving this place with 500 percent of the votes. In the overall ranking for "Mini Cars", which also included the German brands, the Abarth 16,2 took a strong second place, again ahead of the Fiat 595.
"The Abarth brand enjoys an excellent reputation among German sports car fans. Strong evidence of this is the fifth class victory of the Abarth 595 in the readers' choice of 'auto, motor und sport'. The title of 'Best Car' is also a great confirmation of our strategy of offering a suitable alternative for every taste by differentiating the models within the Abarth 595 series," said Luca Napolitano, Head of EMEA Fiat and Abarth, at the award ceremony in Stuttgart.

The Fiat 500 has just recorded another record year in Germany: compared to the previous year, the total number of models sold has increased by 25 percent. At the same time, the Abarth 595 confirmed the record result of 3.500 with 2018 units sold in its second most important market.
There are five model versions of the Abarth 595 with a power range between 107 kW (145 hp) and 132 kW (180 hp). The range extends from the Abarth 595, the entry into the world of Abarth, to the particularly luxuriously equipped Abarth 595 Turismo, the decidedly sporty Abarth 595 Pista and Abarth 595 Competizione, to the uncompromising Abarth 595 esseesse. All model variants are available both as a sedan (595) and as a convertible (595C) with an electric fabric roof.
“auto motor und sport” asked its readers for their favorite cars for the 44th time as part of the “Best Cars” competition. Almost 103.000 readers cast their votes and assessed a total of 387 current models from eleven categories, including an import rating in each case.
